"In my work I am always looking for beauty and poetry even if some subjects I deal with are full of pain. I have always focused on the observation and search for visual expressions in themes that are in some way related or connected to movement and transformation. I focus on emotions and feelings, on the duality of things and the search for balance. A balance that comes and goes…and yet is never permanent."
Berlin based Italian figurative artist, Silvia´ source of interest is the contradictions that shape our reality, especially regarding women of her generation, the strength that they emanate, and the intrinsicate contradiction they live in: the duality between the poeticized image of a woman (as saint, muse, goddess) and the inequality she faces in the real world.
Using the traditional format of portrait, adapting it to the era we live in, Silvia aims to present real people without idolization. Without pretense of perfection.

Informed by a longing for balance, a mediation of textures and colours shifting between a dynamic boldness, to calm and quiet dispositions. Through shifts of perspective, colours are pitted against each other to achieve harmony. Markings are meditations of thought, of memory, of daydreaming. With a childlike curiosity, a bright and playful energy manifests into large formats. Working primarily with acrylic and oils, the artist jumps between landscapes within herself, evolving, regressing, exploring.
I seek to bring joy and color to the world through my art. I'm well known for my bold and playful use of color, abstracts, and line. I studied art in London and apart from that, the vast experience of different cultures and customs I encountered during my extensive travels made me who I am today. My name is Vanni and I am an emerging abstract artist from Berlin. My art is mainly influenced by the beauty of nature. During walks or hikes I collect different colours of flowers, plants and stones. But also the moods of light and shadow, as you can experience them at sunsets, inspire me in my work. All these impressions I then put together in a new abstract way when creating my paintings.
